Hello. I thought I'd take this opportunity to comment on the George Floyd case or the Derick Chauvin case whichever it is. I was watching some of the movies of it on the law and crime network on www.distro.tv.. The trial lasted for more than two weeks so I figure I only caught a little bit of it. You notice I said opportunity. Combined with motivation is the basis of most situations. I figured that they would comment on the motivation that inspired Dereck Chauvin but after watching it for a few hours it wasn't mentioned. Opportunity wasn't mentioned either so I'm left to just guess what the prosecution or the defense consider Dereck Chauvins motivation for doing what he did. The trial mainly consisted of the prosecution saying George Floyd died of asphyxiation and the defense saying that George Floyd died of heart failure and they had a lot of expert witnesses testifying. Near the end of the trial the prosecution brought back a medical witness to ask him the question “could pressure on the neck cause suffocation” and the witness was instructed to answer yes or no. I felt the defense should have objected to that question because of the vagueness of it but nothing happened and it went unnoticed. I felt there was a lot of intelligent questions that could have been asked but were not.
I didn't notice the mention of the counterfeit 20 that George Floyd was supposed to have been using so that might have given Derek Chauvin some motivation if it really was a counterfeit 20 or maybe it was just speculation by the store clerk. I don't think Derick Chauvin had an opportunity to commit murder by using the technique he used. A technique that wasn't taught in the police force and I never seen it on TV so it was probably something new. President Biden and the ex-president George W Bush posted they thought the verdict was a good one. Considering the technique that was used we might be seeing it more on TV in lieu of waterboarding maybe.
